Electric Kart

The electric kart shown on this page is a great engineering project that can be made with simple handtools in any workshop. Featuring a welding steel frame, a simple chain drive and a disc brake the kart is a very satisfying project to build. We've used a motor speed controller made by 4QD that allows regenerative braking when the accelerator pedal is lifted. This controller also allows forward a reverse speeds to be set making it safe for younger drivers. Using a 36V DV motor the kart will run for about 25 minutes on a full charge.

We've created comprehensive plans showing how to build the kart, we've aslo created a 3D PDF digital model of the kart that can be rotated and zoomed on a computer or tablet screen. There's lots more information on how to build the kart at www.electric-go-kart.co.uk

3D PDF File to Download

We've created a 3d PDF rendering of the kart that can be downloaded at www.electric-go-kart.co.uk. The file can be loaded in to Adobe Acrobat and then can be zoomed and rotated to see how the kart fits together.

Kart Plan Pages

Our kart plans are broken down in to sub-assemblies and each page details contains full dimension and schematics that show how the kart is built.
